Description
“Vestige” is a six-part series of original monoprints rooted in themes of memory, erosion, and the subtle power of what remains. Each one-of-a-kind print invites viewers into a quiet, contemplative space – where colour, texture and surface hint at the fragile imprints left behind by time and place.
Using layered monoprinting and textural techniques, each piece builds from translucent washes, ghostly impressions, and tactile printed marks. The palette – soft mauves, chalk whites, deep indigos and earthen reds – evokes faded coastal paths, worn stone, and weathered fragments. Organic forms suggest sea lace, lichen, tide lines or fossil traces – natural patterns that persist even as everything around them shifts.
This series draws on my fascination with the Scottish coastline and personal connection to objects and environments shaped by time. The result is a collection that feels both deeply personal and universally resonant, offering glimpses of something once held – or perhaps longed for – now lingering only as a trace.
Each monoprint in the Vestige series is:
Original and one-of-a-kind – not a reproduction or edition
Hand-pulled and signed
Printed on high-quality paper using professional printmaking inks
Perfect for collectors of contemporary Scottish art or lovers of subtle, abstract work rooted in place and memory
