‘The surge below’ is a seascape that captures the serene and expansive beauty of the Fife coastline. Using acrylics, oils, texture paste and sand the surface has been built to give a sense of tension and drama. Intensely saturated oil pigment sticks were used to keep a limited and powerful palette depicting the calm yet dynamic waves under a vast, softly clouded sky.
