A painting from a series of imagined landscapes that explores a sense of timeless strata and Earth’s precious, rich geology.
I enjoy the resilience of the wood, enabling me to apply paint through a variety of means – including roller, here – and then scratching and sanding back to mine through these layers to reveal different elements.
The framing is a white slip and a dark charcoal frame that picks up the texture in the painting.
